Tensioner
As our solution to complete packaging need we offer Pneumatic Strapping Tools such as hand tensioners which allow operators to bring strap to desired tension with minimal interruption and strap waste.
There are four basic types of tensioners we offer for steel strapping which satisfy specific packaging needs.
- Feed wheel
- Push Type
- Rack-and-pinion
- Windlass
Feed Wheeltype - Fast and easy to use, the feed wheel tensioner has a serratted feed wheel that firmly engages the strapping. There is no limit to the amount of slack it can pull out of the strap. It requires the use of painted and waxed strapping and is designed for use on flat surfaces.
The Push-type tensioner also has a serrated feed wheel to engage the strap, but is designed to use on round or irregular-shaped packages. There is no limit to the amount of slack it can pull out of the strap. Fast and easy to use, it requires the use of painted and waxed strapping.
The Rack-and-pinion tensioner is used for heavy round or irregular bundles. Uses a serrated gripping dog to hold the strap end. It can be used with either dry or lubricated strapping on round or irregular shaped packages. This tensioner has limited capabilities.
The Windlass tensioner simply winds one end of strapping around a slotted windlass shaft. Primarily used with dry, heavier strapping, as in truck loading. It requires that strapping to be pre-cut to desired lengths. Windlass tools are available with cutter incorporated.
